Hey team! Been grinding these past few weeks. Holiday season in Sydney opens up a lot of work in hospitality so I have been working to save as much as possible. Don’t worry, in the midst of 55hr work weeks I’ve still managed to find time for play. My friends’ families were kind enough to take me in for Christmas and New Years. The day after Christmas was the start to the iconic Sydney to Hobart yacht race. Charlotte found a spot on a boat for us to stake out on the harbor and see the 100+ boats begin their journey south.

All of this work was mainly to afford my new car!!! Oh yeah baby. 2004 Ford Escape 4WD equipped with rooftop tent and camping materials. Can’t beat it. Tomorrow I’ll start roadtripping for about six weeks or more. In my time in Sydney, I’ve tried to get recommendations for where I should travel to. Long story short, everyone has a different opinion, so I guess I just have to see the whole thing! I plan to drive mostly along the coast clockwise up until Broome in the Northwest. To put it in American context, it would be similar to roadtripping from Charleston, SC to Portland, Oregon and driving along the Southern border. So far I have my trip until Adelaide planned out with a few friends joining for the more scenic portions. Once the journey begins, I’ll start writing more with cooler pics and updates :)

Leaving Sydney is bittersweet. I’ve made some fantastic friends and memories exploring the city and hanging around Manly. Most of the time I forgot I’m an adult and not a kid just running around. I’ve gotten to work on loads of new skills from surfing to bartending. Sydney is definitely a unique city that likes to do a little bit of everything. A little bit of beach a little bit of city. However, not to be a negative nelly, I felt at times Sydney lacked a deeper charm outside of woohoo party!! Maybe I was hanging around the wrong parts, but I look forward to getting on the road and taking some time away from the hustle and bustle to appreciate some of the oldest landscapes in the world.

(Sorry for no pics this post, the upload isn't working and I haven't done anything particularly new or exciting anyways)
