Made it back home!!
Well. Once the photos app on my computer died, I really lost motivation to write in my blog. But after taking a month and a half to rot at home, I realized I’ve left all my loyal fans hanging!! To be fair I’ve seen most of those who frequent my page in person to debrief, but it’s only right to give this era of travel a proper close out on the blog. Be it nearly 2 months after my journey has come to an end. We last spoke around when I left Australia. I spent 6.5ish weeks in So

Goodbye Australia??????
(The photos app on my computer keeps crashing!! Going to try to sort that out, but if you want photos in the meantime send me a message and I’ll send some!) After arriving in Brisbane from Bali, I began my goodbye tour in Australia, checking as much off my remaining bucket list as possible. Kind of. Honestly, I got a bit lazy in this era, but I think a slightly slower pace was good for me. I started in Byron Bay, living one of my favorite traveler lifestyles of surfing+yoga.

Indonesia
I <3 Indonesia. Everything I could have asked for after a rural 7 days-a-week job. Quick itinerary on my 3 week trip. Canggu: met up with my hometown bestie Sophia and did lot’s of beaching and partying etc. Can never complain about staying at a villa for $50 a night. Nusa Lembongan: Soph said she had an epic surf lesson here so that was justification enough to make it my next stop. I got to surf on my first reef break next to a shipwreck! Getting to get taken out by boat to

Return to Society
It’s nearly time to re-enter society. At the end of the month, I will have spent 12 weeks on the farm. A long, mostly good 12 weeks. After going pretty much all gas no brakes since I landed in New Zealand last August, I was very grateful to have some time to myself and a times even felt a little bored for a change. I’ve had time to explore interests I’ve been meaning to for so long and pause for a moment to reflect before diving head-first into these next few months of tra

Hey it’s been a minute! Brief update. Just over a month ago, I started a new job. I’m working on a dairy farm about 2 hours from Cairns in a region known as the Atherton Tablelands. It’s basically rolling hills and windmills and farms surrounded by tropical rainforest. Living a very rural small town vibe, but the area is so green and full of life, an ideal spot to settle in for a few months, save some money, and plan out the next steps of my journey. I probably won’t post on

Roadtrip All Done
**Note: I wrote this a week ago so it’s not totally up to date, but haven’t had a chance to post sorryyyyyyy Two and a half months on the road come to an end in Darwin, Northern Territory. I write this post from the Darwin Airport, waiting for a flight to Cairns, Queensland. Big things to come in far North Queensland stay tuned. Last you heard from me, I was trapped in Broome due to an incoming cyclone. Information from the Visitor Center implied the road would be closed fo

Western Australia
Life since Perth has been busy busy busy with some pretty unforgettable adventures. I’ve moved into a 1999 Toyota Landcruiser Prado (aka any backpackers dream ride) with my friend Maddy for this leg, which has allowed us to take on some more 4wd terrain. I’m currently located in Broome, having taken about two weeks mostly along the coast to get here. I’ll give y’all a quick summary of what I’ve been up to, and in a few weeks when I start a job I’ll try to delve further into a

The Southwest
Hey again. Writing in from Perth now - the most isolated city in the world! From Esperance, we just about followed the coast to get here. Have been really loving Western Australia. Definitely has that stereotypical chill, friendly Aussie vibe to it more than anywhere else I’ve been. After a day spent frolicking and jumping off rocks at Twilight Bay, Esperence, we continued our journey west. We made various stops along the way, as usual, to see incredible natural formations a

The Nullarbor
G’day from Esperance, Western Australia. Just had my first warm shower in weeks and taking a day to slowwwww downnnn while Nat has her last lecture of uni. Go Nat! Our convoy, which has recently grown to 4 cars - 8 people, took about a week to enjoy the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. 2 of the cars are 4-wheel drive and fully equipped for off-road adventuring, a popular hobby in Australia. The highlight was undoubtedly 4-wheel driving through beaches, sand dunes, and rugge

Van Life
All has been up since car-gate. After catching the train from the suburbs into Melbourne, I spent the evening my car broke down devastated but working on a plan. I ultimately sold the car for parts and moved all of my things into a 2-day van rental. I spent 2 days selling everything I could on Facebook which was decently successful. Broke my heart the most to have to part ways with my surfboards. I had planned to convoy from Melbourne with a girl planning a similar route in h

No good very bad day
Hey team! Dropping new blog post real quick. We made it to Melbourne! Physically in one piece, mentally/emotionally less so! We’ve delved into the past few months I’ve spent working, mainly to afford an epic road trip coming up. I had a pretty decent outline of how I wanted the rest of my year to go that just about relied on one thing: a car! Well aforementioned car breathed her final breath this morning just a short two and half weeks after buying her. I camped out at a bow

Tassie
G’day team. This post is pretty long because man oh man am I a Tasmania fan (unintentional rhyme but what am I gonna do change it??). Aiden and I spent about 5 full days on the island. We decided to rent a car and road trip - arguably the best way to travel to most places in Australia. This gave us the freedom to travel where we wanted, and being the budget queens we are, it also acted as a free place to sleep (score!). We came into the trip with some amount of an itiner

Long time no talk!
Hi team. Have been asked by a few people “when are you going to post on your blog again it’s been so long!” Greatly appreciate the validation that people are reading it. That’s on me for not writing and not saying anything. Truthfully, I don’t have much to say at the moment. I’m at a stage where I’m settling down to live and work in Manly through at least New Years to save money for travels I’m planning starting at the end of Aussie summer. I really enjoy Manly, but I’m defin

Running Around
Hey team. We are slowly. Moving. Up. In. The. World. Major update from this week: I have found a home! I’m living with two roommates for the next three months in a pretty ideal setup. I’m living in an area called Fairlight across the street from a small beach and a 15 minute walk from where I work and play. When I saw the room pop up online, I immediately jumped on it and did everything I could to get it. Having my own place is huge. I can finally start buying the things I wa

(Mostly) settling in
(Sorry, team, didn’t take many pictures in the past couple of weeks. Will be better moving forward) I’ve been living in Manly for two weeks now and for the most part, haven’t left. I’ve gotten not one but two jobs so woohoo goodbye unemployment!! Long-term housing has been less successful. I’ve been bouncing between basically wherever I can find a bed, whether it be hostels or with friends. Two days ago, I began an eight-day rental from a woman going on vacation which is my f

Starting in Sydney
Nearly two weeks ago, I made my way from Queenstown to Sydney. Upon landing, I learned that Australia does not have a permanent summer? And has seasons? I don’t know why I thought seasons here were fake. While high 50s isn’t too cold, it isn’t the short-sleeved weather I had been looking forward to after a couple of chilly weeks in New Zealand. The first week in Sydney can be best described by exhaustion. Mainly onboarding between opening bank accounts, getting SIM cards, an

New Zealand
The 27 hour travel time from NYC to Auckland is no small undertaking. In fact, my second of 3 flights took off on August 23rd and landed on August 25th. To try to minimize jetlag with a 16-hour time difference, you have to be strategic. I did everything I could to stay awake from NYC->LAX so that I could sleep through the following 11-hour leg. This would allow me to get a full night’s sleep and wake up a little before 6 a.m. local time. The following few nights, I was pret
